Vacation? Staycation? The Best Hotels in Dallas at Various Price Points

Let's face it — Dallas is LARGE and in charge. We're the 5th-largest media market in the country, DFW Airport is the 4th-busiest airport in the nation, and so many of our surrounding communities are listed among the fastest-growing in the U.S. People want to be here. So if you're planning a trip to Dallas, or you're looking for the best staycation spots in town, bookmark this list. Our methodology: we're listing some of our fave hotels in Big D and grouping them into three different price points ($$, $$$, and ✨LUXURY✨), by looking at the lowest weekday rates we could find for two adults on a two-night stay, on the hotel website, on Trivago and on Expedia. Obviously, rates shift, and the earlier in advance you book, the more affordable rates you may be able to find, so these are only guidelines.

PRICE POINT: $$

1. Canvas Hotel

If pristine city views are your thing, you're going to love your stay at the Canvas Hotel in The Cedars District. The rooms are eclectic as they are comfortable, and Canvas was a TripAdvisor Traveler's Choice Award Winner in 2022. We saw weekday rates as low as $189 per night on the hotel website and as low as $178 on Trivago.

2. magnolia HOtel Downtown

The Magnolia Hotel is located in one of Dallas' most historic buildings, formerly the Magnolia Petroleum Company building. It was the home of the original porcelain enamel and neon pegasus sign that became an iconic part of the Dallas skyline when it was installed in 1934, 12 years after the building was completed. We found weekday rates as low as $199 per night on the hotel website and as low as $171 on Trivago.

3. lorenzo hotel

Folks absolutely RAVE about their stay at Lorenzo. For two years running the hotel has been one of the top-rated hotels in Dallas, according to TripAdvisor reviews. Their themed suites are to die for and the vibes are RIGHT here. If you book a month or so out on the hotel website, you can find weekday rates as low as $151 per night here, which seems too good to be true, but isn't. The lowest we found on Trivago, though, was $191 per night.

4. the beeman hotel

Up closer to the Park Cities sits this super-chic boutique hotel, and we are in love with it. The 296 handsomely hip and pet-friendly rooms blend clean, tailored lines with original, artistic flair. While the hotel website listed the best weekday rate at $179 per night, we found a steal of a deal on Trivago for just $138 per night.

5. sova downtown

This is going to be one of the most affordable spots to stay on this list, because many of the rooms are micro-sized. They've got everything you need, but the point is, your room is where you rest your head for a few hours after you've exhausted yourself exploring the city. Guests 21 and over get a complimentary drink from the bar upon check-in, so they're not skimping on their offerings, just giving customers a break on pricing due to the size of the rooms. We found last-minute deals as low as $121 on the hotel website, and for some reason Trivago didn't have anything for us. So, we looked on Expedia and found weekday rates as low as $139.

6. drey hotel at the village

This 38-room boutique hotel features meticulously crafted amenities, a 150-person event hall and multiple outdoor parks perfect for any event, or just a leisurely stroll! They also have private lofts available, if you're planning an extended vacay or staycay. We found weekday rates as low as $193 per night on the hotel website and as low as $166 on Trivago.

price point: $$$

1. stay love list

Dallas' most Insta-worthy AirBnB rental is perfect for your girls' trip, staycation, bachelorette party or impromptu celebration just because! With weekday rates roughly in line with the rest of the $$$ category (depending on how many guests you have — it sleeps as many as 8), you really can't get a better bang for your hospitality buck in Dallas. Tucked into an amazing location in Dallas just minutes away from Uptown, Downtown, Lower Greenville, Deep Ellum, and more — this stunning abode was curated to entertain a variety of guests who like to have a good time and explore everything Dallas has to offer!

2. virgin hotel dallas

The amenities are off the charts at the Virgin Hotel in the Design District. From the exquisite city views from the 4th-floor Pool Club to the awesome dining and drinks at the Commons Club onsite, it's amazing that we were able to find weekday rates as low as $289 per night on the hotel website and just slightly lower, at $285 per night, on Trivago.

3. kimpton pittman hotel

Deep Ellum's Pittman Hotel features a century-old Beaux Arts exterior blended with modern glass and steel interiors. Gather inside their American tavern for wood-fired plates or settle around the outdoor deck for craft beers and live music. We absolutely love this place and found weekday rates as low as $273 per night on the hotel website and as low as $262 on Trivago.

4. omni dallas

There are few Dallas hotels as recognizable as the one that plays such a prominent role in illuminating the skyline so profoundly. The Omni Dallas shines in the heart of Downtown, showcasing local history throughout its 1,001 guest rooms and suites and playing host to one of the all-time great Dallas rooftop pool decks. We found weekday rates as low as $299 per night on the hotel website, and as low as $274 per night on Trivago.

5. marriott uptown

We've raved before about what an underrated spot the Marriott uptown is before, and then we did it again. Well, now we'll do it for a third time. Don't make us tap the board again. The Marriott Uptown is an amazing place to stay with an amazing pool deck — and, yes, the pool is heated so you can enjoy it in almost any weather! It is on the pricier end of things in the $$$ category, but it's well worth it. We found weekday rates as low as $469 per night if you are booking art least a month out on the hotel website and $460 per night under similar circumstances on Trivago.

6. The Statler

The Statler is a downtown destination, and it is a big part of Dallas history. Famous guests of the hotel include Tina Turner, Lucille Ball, and even Elvis himself. It was left vacant and neglected before being reopened in 2017 as part of the Hilton Curio Collection, and now it's home to its own onsite breakfast and brunch restaurant, Overeasy, as well as an underground cocktail lounge and vibrant venues for parties and gatherings.

7. hotel zaza

Hotel ZaZa calls itself the Original Texas Boutique Hotel, and it's hard to argue there. But what may even be harder to believe is the affordability of some of their rooms at the Uptown location. Now, be aware, you will have to book farther in advance here than at some of the other hotels on this list due to ZaZa's popularity, but when you find your dates, you may be able to snag a room like we found on their website for as low as $283 per night, or on Trivago for as low as $320 per night. Not the room pictured above, mind you — that is the Crouching Tiger, the largest of what they call their Magnificent 7 Suites, and at 2,145 square feet, that booking will run you a much prettier penny.

8. hilton canopy uptown

The Canopy is walking distance from all the Uptown nightlife and from the Katy Trail as well. Location, location, location! You can explore the neighborhood on one of their complementary Canopy bikes or enjoy their great rooftop lounge. Both the hotel website and Trivago showed us weekday rates as low as $359 per night.

9. The w

We're only putting The W in this category because somehow we were able to spot a weekday booking on Trivago for just $354 per night. Make no mistake, a stay at The W is living the luxury lifestyle. The most affordable bookings we were able to find on the hotel site were closer to $500, and that seems more in line with the amazing location in Victory Park and the incredible amenities The W offers. But hey, we found a deal, so we bet you can, too. Just look at that pool deck!

10. The Joule

We found another deal on this landmark Downtown Dallas hotel. The revitalized Neo-gothic building makes The Joule a cultural hub, a dining and retail destination and a neighborhood gathering place — all wrapped in a luxury boutique hotel. Though weekday rates hover around $400-$500 per night on the hotel website, we were able to find weekday rates as low as $271 per night on Trivago. Did you know, The Joule is also home to the famous Dallas Eye sculpture?

price point: ✨luxury, baby✨

1. the adolphus

Oh, how we love The Adolphus. Let us count the ways. Discover uninterrupted Downtown views, gleaming hardwood floors, a curated selection of artwork and the kind of flawless attention to detail that has made it a favorite retreat of dignitaries and VIPs since the hotel's inception in 1912. We found weekday rates as low as $346 per night on Trivago, but that's if you're booking two months out or more. Rates less than a month in advance can get to $700 per night or so, likely because more affordable rooms are already booked. But trust us, whatever room you're able to get here, it's worth every penny and more.

2. hall arts hotel

Great value for some of the most luxurious digs in Downtown Dallas live at Hall Arts. We absolutely adore any chance we get to have a meal at Ellie's, the attached restaurant and lounge that serves Napa-inspired chef-driven meals at breakfast, lunch and dinner. Even less than a month out you may be able to snag a room for weekday rates as low as $350 per night. Find us a better deal on a luxury stay in Big D. We'll wait.

3. The Stoneleigh

This is another of those really timeless Uptown Dallas hotels. The Stoneleigh is swank, defined. It's in a super chic and historic 1923 Art Deco building, and it's just steps from businesses, museums, boutique shopping, cutting-edge cuisine and stimulating nightlife. We only looked at bookings that were less than a month in advance, so with a little planning you may be able to find stays here more affordable than what we found. But on the hotel website we found weekday rates as low as $679 per night, and on Trivago they were as low as $513 per night.

4. thompson dallas

Thompson Dallas is a luxury hotel located within The National, one of Dallas’ latest urban upscale mixed-use project. The 51-story tower has been curated by a team of award-winning designers and offers bespoke journeys centered around world-class culinary and nightlife offerings as well as refined art and entertainment. Midcentury modern style, skyline views, and unparalleled amenities make Thompson Dallas a hub for culture-seekers. We found weekday rates as low as $431 per night on both the hotel website and on Expedia.

5. rosewood mansion

Rosewood Mansion on Turtle Creek is a bona fide, celebrated Texas icon. Once a palatial private estate, the Uptown hotel is tucked away in one of the most exclusive neighborhoods in the heart of Dallas. We were able to find weekday rates as low as $625 per night on the hotel website, and as low as $603 per night on Trivago.

6. hotel crescent court

This is another one of those places where, if you've got your eye on a stay here, you're going to want to book as far in advance as possible. If you do, you might be able to score a weekday rate for under $400 per night. But if you don't, those more affordable rooms may all be booked and weekday rates may jump to $600 per night or more. But with their immersive spa, renowned dining, and serene pool just moments away from the trolley, Crescent Court is a truly top-notch luxury stay. Fresh off a $30 million renovation, this is Texas luxury living at its finest.

7. HOtel Swexan

Hotel Swexan in the Harwood District is one of the newer hotels on this list, but it has immediately won a place in our hearts. Staying here is one of the most over-the-top and luxurious stays in the state of Texas. The rooftop pool and bar called Pomelo will make you feel like you're in the Mediterranean. The rooftop restaurant, only open to hotel guests, is called Leonie, and it is also a complete vibe! Stilwell's, their steakhouse, is one of our favorites in the city right now, and their chic martini lounge with table-side service is unlike any other cocktail lounge we've ever been to!
